Objectives

Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) is a telecommunications technology based on wireless metropolitan area networking (WMAN) standards developed by the IEEE 802.16 group and adopted by both IEEE and the ETSI HIPERMAN group. WiMAX has the capability to host services such as host of broadband connections, cellular backhauls and hotspots at great distances.

The objective of this course is to give students an understanding of WiMAX technology and WiMAX solutions. In this course, students will be given a concise technical overview of emerging WiMAX products for broadband wireless. Upon completing this course, they will have a good understanding of the new wireless technology of WiMAX – including how to configure, implement, and troubleshoot a WiMAX network. They will also learn more about ZyXEL WiMAX products, and how they function in a WiMax environment.
