Objectives

As more services merge with the Ethernet network, users are starting to watch full High-definition (HD) movies at home, chat with families and friends via video phones, play HD games and utilize other services that require high bandwidth. To bring these services to different locations, companies today utilize Fiber-to-the-x (FTTx) solutions to connect organizations and homes to service provider networks.

The objective of the course is to provide students with a wider understanding of FTTx technologies, including triple play features. During the course, students will develop practical skills in configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting of the Ethernet. They will also be taught the fundamental design protocols of ZyXEL Very-high-bitrate DSL (VDSL) in triple play applications of FTTx. The course consists of object teaching, discussions, hands-on installations, and examinations.
